Maestro Lido Bettarini Official Archives have been open since 2009.

 

The Official Maestro Lido Bettarini Archives allow the authentication of a work by the painter Lido Bettarini.


A certificate of authenticity is issued after examination and an archive number assigned.


This constitutes a guarantee of follow-up of the work of art.

The Maestro Lido Bettarini Official Archives are the exclusive property of his widow, Mrs. Marie-Claire Bettarini.


Since 2009, the date of its creation, the Official Archives have certified more than 1000 works of art.


The only point of reference for all the artistic work of the painter Lido Bettarini who participated in its creation during his lifetime.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
LIDO BETTARINI is an Italian Artist Author, born in Tuscany in Sesto Fiorentino,
February 2, 1927.
Very young, he decided to work in ceramics where he excelled in order to pay for studies.
LIDO BETTARINI studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy in the 1950s.
Maestro, his works of art appear in museums and galleries in Italy and abroad;
He is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Rome, was one of the founders of the Academy "Simone Martini" in Ancona;
In the 70s, he gave free rein to his mystical vein with large canvases of Sacred Art, among which we can mention a Christ 'Crucifix' in the church of Santi-Fiorentini and a San Giuseppe Artigiano in Querceto.
In 1984/85, he produced a Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) for the Abbey of Vallombrosa, exhibited at the Cathedral of Monte-Carlo in the 1990s.
He has covered many square meters of major hotels in Sorrento with paintings, has exhibited in Montreal in Canada, in France, in Cannes, Strasbourg, Paris, in Germany Baden-Baden, Munich, Stuttgart, in Spain Madrid, in Belgium Brussels, in Monte-Carlo, in the Canaries Marbella and in Switzerland Lugano, he won more than twenty national first prizes in Italy, exhibited in his major cities Rome, Milan, Naples, Florence, Venice, Cagliari, Livorno, Pisa , Bari etc.… and in the arc of its sixty years of activity we can count more than eighty
personal exhibitions.
In 1986 he received the commission to make the official portrait of Pope John Paul II and in 1989 he wrote an autobiographical book “Angeli e Demoni” remaining for fourteen weeks in the bestseller of the five best-selling books.
Passionate about cinematography, he has produced various television films for TV; he won a national prize in Viareggio for a documentary on the carnival, painted for the Saltino church the life of San Giovanni Gualberto, Benedictine monk, founder of the Vallombrosian order, six huge paintings for fifty linear meters of painting.
In 1991, he had the honor of exhibiting his paintings in the Ghirlandaio museum and, in 1995, he was invited to exhibit his works at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In the meantime, naturally, he continued his daily work as a painter of landscapes and seascapes which make him one of the most sought-after artists of the Italian and international public.


In 2004, he lost his beloved wife Pina after 32 years together; It was in September 2005 that he published a new book "Piovuta Dal Cielo" autobiography-novel on this dramatic experience which will take him to a new literary vein.
Remarried, September 17, 2005 in Cannes, with Marie-Claire BALESTRA, his young French wife, this new love will reinforce his artistic vein which after 60 years of activity is still in constant evolution.
In 2009, the artist's first novel was published: “Zitto e Mosca! ". A surprising allegorical fable.
2009 is also the year of the creation of the Official Maestro Lido Bettarini Archives.
2013, the year of the opening to the public of an Art workshop in Cannes in France, aims to make it known to Cannes.
It was after a long illness that he passed away on May 9, 2019, in Vallauris in France where he resided.
